Hello 2020!
What We’re Most Excited for in the New Year
With 2019 wrapped and in the books, we can’t help but look to 2020 with a great sense of excitement for everything to come in the new year. From local, new restaurant openings to worldwide events, there’s no shortage of things to look forward to as we grow another year older, another year wiser, and another year infinitely better. Mark your calendars because we’ve highlighted some of the things we can’t wait to see and experience.
The Return of Michael and Caitlin Toscano
One of the restaurant industry’s most acclaimed and seasoned duos have announced their return to Manhattan with the opening of Da Toscano at 24 Minetta Lane. The couple, who built their resumes helming the kitchen at New York’s Perla Restaurant and working the front of house at world-renowned eateries Per Se and Del Posto, will bring regional Italian cuisine to Greenwich Village. Open for lunch and dinner, the undoubtedly delicious menu will celebrate the rustic flavors of Italy with fresh seafood, housemade pasta, and dishes fired in a wood burning oven.
Hugh Jackman Comes Back to Broadway
A star of both the stage and screen, the Tony-Award winning legend comes back to Broadway in one of the industry’s most iconic roles. Set to reprise the beloved role of Harold Hill, Hugh Jackman, will bring the Music Man back to the bright lights of Broadway with a star-studded cast, world-class production, and much of the creative team that was behind the Tony-winning revival of Hello, Dolly! With the first preview set for September, we can’t wait to see Jackman in all of his singing and dancing glory alongside seventy-six trombones.
Set from July 24 through August 29, the 2020 Summer Olympic Games will have the world’s eyes on the bright lights of Tokyo. With over 28 sports and the world’s most elite athletes competing for Olympic gold, the Olympics is always an inspiring marriage of competition and sportsmanship. Watching the world set aside their differences and come together inherently makes the future seem a little brighter and the world seem a little smaller, in the best way possible. From the excitement of the elaborate, star-studded opening ceremony and the lighting of the torch, to the closing ceremonies that have always symbolized a coming together as “one nation,” the 2020 Summer Olympic Games is sure to be one of the highlights of the year.
