Manhattan’s Best Comedy Clubs
As we’ve highlighted before, we believe that laughter is the best medicine, and that’s why we feel so lucky to be in Manhattan, where great comedy reigns. Housing everything from intimate clubs to sprawling venues, Manhattan has served as a launchpad for some of comedy’s brightest, and most hilarious, stars. Comedic legends are born in New York City, and many of these legends get their start at the city’s various open mics and comedy nights. The talent here is always top-notch, and belly laughs can be had from both the sets of more established comedians as well as fresh, new talent. We love discovering new stars, and that’s why we’ve rounded up some of our best comedy nights throughout the city.
Onsite at ROW nyc
Located onsite at ROW nyc, District M comes alive in the evening hours with a commissioned digital art gallery by paparazzo extraordinaire, Ron Galella. Guests can experience a unique bar ambiance at a central location that is steps away from Times Square. Every other Monday beginning August 5th, guests will be able to take in some of the city’s best comedic talent alongside the venue’s extensive craft cocktail list and hand-stretched pizzas. Hosted by Fen G, District M’s Comedy nights will occur bi-weekly from 5:30pm-8pm and will showcase a rotating lineup of New York’s best comedians.

For those who are willing to give truly undiscovered talent a chance, stop into one of Laughing Buddha Comedy’s Open Mic Nights. As many of the comics attend the company’s comedy school, the talent is fairly green, but for those who want to watch stand up in a supportive and easy-going environment, this is a great option. Owned by Jeff Lawrence, the company is the single largest producer of Stand Up Comedy Shows and Open Mics in NYC with over 150 events a month. Open Mic Nights are held daily, and their New Talent Industry Showcases have even featured such stars as Janeane Garofalo, Gilbert Gottfried, Tracy Morgan, and Pete Davidson.

Located within minutes from ROW nyc in Times Square, Caroline’s has a reputation as one of comedy’s premier clubs throughout the country. The 300-person venue features bright lights, bold colors, and some of the world’s most prestigious comedic lineups. Past headlining names include Dave Chappelle, Janeane Garofalo, Joel McHale, Tracy Morgan, and Kathy Griffin. The club first opened in 1982 as a small cabaret club in Chelsea and became such a draw it changed locations twice to accommodate the growing demand and standing room crowds. There are shows scheduled throughout the week, but we recommend a weekend show for a chance at seeing some of the industry’s most in-demand acts.
