Summer in the City V.3
Unique and Memorable Ways to Enjoy the Season in New York
The Mostly Mozart Festival at Lincoln Center
From July 10th through August 10th, Lincoln Center will host a summer celebrating the arts with a lineup of music, theater, and dance. All of the performance and guest artists will showcase their exceptional talents through performances that honor and reflect Mozart’s legacy. Kicking off the season long calendar will be a dance extravaganza from the brilliant mind of Mark Morris, who was dubbed as the “Mozart of modern dance” by The Washington Post and “the most successful and influential choreographer alive” by the New York Times. The Mark Morris Dance Company returns to the festival at the Rose Theater for four nights of performances. Throughout the season, the festival will also feature The Magic Flute, Mozart’s beloved comedic opera, orchestra performances, pianists, dance troupes, and more.
Relaxation meets wine in this summer series from the Times Square hotel. A 15-minute happy hour will kicks off the party, followed by a 45-minute beginner-friendly yoga class with wine in-hand, and a 30-minute “wine-down” to conclude the event. The classes are structured for optimal safety and fun, with the first Drunk Yoga kicking off September 28th from 12pm-1:30pm. With an event this fun, you’ll want to nama-stay all day!
MoMA PS1 Warm Up
For those that like their music a little more modern, MoMA PS1 Warm Up is an outdoor music series taking place every Saturday in MoMA PS1's courtyard from July 6th through the end of August. Combining elements of music, sound, and the performing arts, the outdoor party will feature an exciting lineup of artists and installations. This summer will mark the event’s 22nd season, making Warm Up one of the longest running music programs housed within a museum. With a vision to “elevate innovative, underrepresented voices and connect fans with music’s most important artists,” alumni of the program include such names as: Solange, Black Dice, Cardi B, Jamie XX, Lizzo, Skepta, Thom Yorke, Four Tet, DJ Derrick May, DJ Premier, and Ritchie Hawtin.
