Lucky Brand

Rooted in rock ‘n’ roll with a signature sense of humor, Lucky Brand NYC is renowned for their vintage-inspired jeans for women, men and children.

About Lucky Brand NYC: Lucky Brand knows that jeans are much more than just denim and rivets; they’re a true blue American icon. Staying true to the rich heritage and authentic, all-American spirit of denim, In the 1970s, 21-year-old Gene Montesano and 17-year-old Barry Perlman opened a Florida jeans shop called Four Way Street. This is where the foundation that would become Lucky Brand Jeans was started. In 1978, Gene moved to enter into the Los Angeles fashion industry. With partner Michael Caruso he started Bongo and ran the brand for 15 years. After leaving Bongo, Gene teamed up with his old business partner Barry Perlman in 1990 to launch Lucky Brand. Gene & Barry created a brand that is known for the attention to detail put into each pair of jeans. This along with the stitching of “Lucky You” on the fly, accomplishes the goal that Gene & Barry set out to do; to create a product of good quality & good humor. They gave them their distinctively “Lucky” look by literally putting them through the wringer – ripping, fraying, sanding, patching and washing by hand to give them true character and soul. Then, they added authentic hardware, personalized touches and playful details, and an American legend was born. Their jeans are made for the free-thinker, the artist, the dreamer; they’re made to dance, work, run, jump, play and rock & roll (just like you). Their inspiration doesn’t just come from the rugged work wear of denim pioneers, but from the free spirit and laid-back lifestyle of their Southern California roots. They find inspiration everywhere, from the secluded outlooks of Big Sur to the old-school tattoo parlors of Venice and the beautiful beaches of Malibu. They reference music, art and photography old and new to create truly unique pieces that you’ll wear over and over again. They also produce apparel, shoes, accessories and jewelry for men, women and children, in addition to plus-size and big & tall styles.
